Lammas Moot Ponderings

Well I suppose everything is ok, Lammas is coming up & the moot has become quiet. A couple of people have fallen out, many of them are in the middle of moving, a lot of the students have home to visit parents. So we are at the moment only averaging about 7 people a moot. In a way I'm worried, in a way not as I know things will look up when people finish moving & the students return.

But the thing is what to do for Lammas at the moot as we seem to have few numbers, we have baked goodies being made, we are making corn dollies, but what about a few Lammas games? Hmm well I've not been successful in finding games that would be suitable for indoors for just a few people to play, which wont involve too much in the way of injury. Looking through my resources of books & the internet I have found very little.

Some of the things I have come accross in my quest for games include:-

Shin kicking- This is where you don steel toe capped boots & kick you opponent with your left foot in their right shit shin whilst they do exactly the same back to you. The idea of the game is the last person standing is the winner. Hmm that was as you can probably tell got discounted for the reasons of too many injuries & general bloodiness.

Horse racing- Speaks for itself but I think it would resemble a seen from Phoenix nights with a drunk horse in the backroom of a pub. I suppose there is the option of using a hobby horse but I wouldn't be seen dead doing that!!

Wife carrying- This is where you you sling your partner over your shoulder in a fireman's lift & either race where the first person across the line is the winner or as far as you can until you are knackered. I have a problem with that Rich is 13 stone.

Sack racing- Possible but where would I get sacks from?

Quoits- Again possible but would need to purchase some.

A kind of game thats like skittles but with 8 pins, have no idea on the layout of them, but could be good.

I can remeber a game where you make a mound of flour with a mixing bowl & place a sweet on top & you cut out sections of flour, the person who topples the sweet from off the mound has to pick out the sweet with there teeth. Good fun but maybe a bit messy with the whole facial hair thing.

I suppose that is food for thought excuse the pun for those who know that Lammas is the first harvest.

I'm also havin a hair crisis at the moment. I am trying to grow my beard so I can plait it but it has got to the annoying point where it is too short to plait but too unruly to do anything with & it is driving me insane, as it is also trying to curl in every direction. Also I'm thinking about havina a mohican as my hair is naturally receding in a way that it is suggesting that I should finish nature's job of it.

Anyway I've got to go & decide what biccies to bake & make final plans on Lammas games.

See ya

Has It Really Been A Month Since My Last Confession

This month has seriously flown by & a couple of things have happened. It has mainly been uneventful I think, but then again reflecting on it, perhaps not. It seems that life has passed me by quite quickly, but hey what can I do.

So on to the news. My veggie plot is doing ok not brilliant but ok. I have had strawberries, peas & tomatoes crop up, the courgette plants, potatoes & pumpkins are looking strong & everything else is looking weed infested. Though it seems all peaceful there on the surface, it is not, I have had minor disagreements with the land owner & one full blown row. I had a mysterious chain of events happen there as of my water butts emptied over night, which turned out that the hose that had been filling had also drained it. Another mystery occured when the spade went missing only to turn up in a different location 2 weeks later when the owner had used it & locked in her shed & then realised what she done & hope I wouldn't notice it missing when I went to use it, I noticed it straight away the disapearance & the reappearance of it without letting her know that I knew that she messed up even though she like me is too stubborn to admit been in the wrong without proof. Ok enough about the garden.

I have found a house with Rich YAY!!! It is very nice, detatched, decent garden, huge conservatory, 2 bedrooms & it is Woollaston just outside Stourbridge. I'm really getting nervous about moving but I'm sure it will be fine. Although I need actually to move twice as my sister is moving into my room, in August as she starts her masters soon so she can be an educational psychologist & I don't move to the end of September, so my friend Ken is letting me store my stuff there & stay in the intermediary time. Ken however has a new lodger, who Ken has shown his profile on gaydar, to which I can only say nice pics ;o).

My New Deal placement is coming to an end, but after next week (which will be filled with Jobsearch, yay fun) it finishes & can resume my normal hours at AB+. I will however be looking for part time work in Stourbridge so I can actually pay my way or a full time job withh flexi time. I could end up being a towel boy in Heroes the local gay sauna at this rate. Hmmm maybe not such a bad Idea, perhaps not, I get enough offers of guys wanting to give me a good spanking or something heavier.

I've got to plan a Lammas moot as yet another moot clashes with a festival, so there will be fun & games just as soon as I can think of them. There will also be home baked food, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM baking. In think that brings us up to date.
